That was the reason Bercut was on the short list of possible vendors when Tacom, a Tajik telecom operator authorized to offer cellular services under the GSM 900/1800, UMTS, and LTE standards and to provide mobile communication and mobile Internet services in Tajikistan under the ZET-MOBILE brand, began searching for a new product in July 2019. At the time, the operator’s IT landscape already included Bercut solutions, such as a UPS (Unified Payment System), the SPACE platform, and the Ring Back Tone (RBT) service.
The operator required a modern yet mature automated billing system capable of providing ZET-MOBILE with opportunity to introduce new competitive products in the market. The Middle Eastern supplier’s billing system, which was employed in the operator’s IT environment at the time, featured significant ownership costs and required the purchase of expensive server equipment. The replacement of the billing system with a Russian-made product enabled the operator to optimize not only financial costs, but also additional resources spent to eliminate errors and failures that occurred during the previous solution’s operation.
